"Sweetbeets birthday card"

When decorating my son’s nursery I found that adding gorgeous toys, vintage finds and handmade prints to the room really helped create the warm cosy feel I was looking to achieve.  I shopped at many boutiques and scoured the internet looking for special items that would not only make great decorations but also fabulous keepsakes. Whilst on Etsy I came across Sweetbeets letterpress prints and cards and what an absolute sweet find it was!

Lisa Zuraw is the creator behind Sweetbeets, a mother of two from Torronto she draws inspiration from her children. She says “the magic of childhood and life’s simple pleasures is what Sweetbeets is all about. The images you see on Sweetbeets cards are inspired by watching my two children play. All illustrations are my own drawings that I create with Adobe Illustrator.”

Sweetbeets cards are letterpress printed in Canada using a vintage printing press (Heidelberg Windmill). Ink is applied to a photopolymer printing plate and then pressed into the paper, leaving a crisp impression that you can see and feel.

If you are looking for something special to finish off the nursery then look no further than these gorgeous ‘Art for Baby Nursery Counting Prints’ available in blue and green or green and pink. Or shopping for a first birthday card why not buy one from Sweetbeets- the parents will love it so much it could possibly end up in a frame in their babies room! Now that would be sweet!

I love Sweetbeets. I have two of Lisa’s small cards framed in my three year old’s room. They are perfect and I love the fact that they are made by a mum of two boys.
